If given at least 24 hours advance notice, I will do my best to provide opportunities for make-up lessons, but I cannot make any guarantee. If I miss a lesson, we will either schedule a make-up lesson or your tuition will be forwarded to the next month. Billing Once enrolled, you will be given a printed copy of your tuition schedule for the entire year. Most of my business is done through email, but please do not hesitate to call with any questions. Tuition Tuition is due the last week of the month for the next month. Tuition can also be paid monthly, quarterly, or annually. Whatever option you choose, there is a $25 late fee for all late/missed payments. You are accountable for all lessons, regardless if you were sick, had lots of homework, came at the wrong time, or forgot. Make-up Lessons and Cancellations When enrolling for lessons, the student is committing to lessons year-round. I do my best to accommodate everyone’s schedule, and will try to give make-up lessons only if advance notice of 24 hours is given. Make-up lessons are not given for last- minute cancellations. If for any reason I cancel a lesson, I will provide a make-up lesson. If that is not possible, that lesson will be credited to the next month. If you choose to take the summer off, then I cannot guarantee a spot for you if you want to return in fall. Please give two months notice if you plan to discontinue lessons. I do not give refunds. Illness Please do not come to your lesson if: you have a temperature, have had a temperature in the last 24 hours, or if you have been on antibiotics for an infection/cold for less than 24 hours. Registration fee This fee covers recital costs, particularly for the pianist. It is too much of a hassle to try to collect money before each recital when we are just trying to focus on our performance. When possible, it will also be used to invite guest teachers for masterclasses. In most cases, having a guest teacher for a masterclass can be very expensive. In the event that we have an opportunity to have masterclass, students wishing to participate directly in the class will most likely need to pay an additional fee. Recitals and Other Events Each student needs to have at least one outfit that is appropriate for a recital. Jeans, sneakers, high heels, flip-flops, heels, short skirts, tank tops, or provocative outfits are not permitted (regardless of age). Shirts must hit below the knee, and exposed bellies are not allowed. If wearing a skirt or dress the falls by the knee, please wear stockings or pantyhose. We must present ourselves professionally, whether by dressing or playing the part. Many performances are scheduled throughout the year. I will recommend auditions for honors band/orchestra, recitals, etc. to students who are ready for specific events. Teaching Locations Most of my teaching is done at my home.
